Who We Are
Organic Chemistry – Mixed by Hand
HerKitchen was born into the world like all of the best innovations… out of personal necessity and my passion for Quality and for remedies that come from the planet instead of from a lab.
It all started with deep aching pain in my feet. I spent hundreds of dollars on creams and lotions promising relief only to leave me still in pain, and feeling like I had spread grime all over my skin; expensive jars that promised everything, delivered little, and came with a massive list of ingredients hard to pronounce, and ultimately leading to disappointment.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands in partnership with my “smarty pants” scientist sister and went back to the basics… elements from nature with proven impact. Years of research and experimentation went into understanding what different types of skin require to hydrate, restore and protect itself, and the perfect combination of the right ingredients required to provide the relief I was after, while leaving my skin feeling smooth and nourished.
The result is a small line of formulas built around the highest quality, simple ingredients with the proven power to dramatically impact your skin’s health.

One element at the center of every formula
We build each formula around the ingredient that does the real work, then add only what helps it work better.
Magnesium Lotion
Magnesium chloride and hyaluronic acid draw in moisture; shea, cupuaçu and kokum butters hold it there. For tired, restless muscles and skin that’s dry, tight and tired.
Sugar Scrub
Natural cane sugar polishes away dull skin and dissolves as you rinse. Mango butter and apricot kernel oil leave skin soft, not greasy.
Whipped Body Lotion
Arnica has been a staple of massage balms for generations. We pair it with calendula-infused jojoba and chamomile-infused castor oil, then whipped into pure shea butter until it’s light enough to glide.
Mineral Bath Soak
This soak starts with magnesium chloride flakes, the same mineral at the heart of our Magnesium Lotion. They dissolve fast and leave bathwater feeling noticeably soft. Potassium bicarbonate softens the water further, and a curated blend of natural essential oils gives the soak its subtle and relaxing scent.
Face Lotion
We start with rose hydrosol, the fragrant water left after rose petals are steam-distilled. We add hyaluronic acid to help hold that moisture at the surface. Then come two of the lightest, most skin-friendly oils we know: rosehip and prickly pear seed.
Both are rich in linoleic acid, a fatty acid skin already knows how to use. The result is a lotion that absorbs quickly, softens without feeling heavy, and leaves your skin looking rested.

I work in physics and data, so my baseline assumption is that anything in a cute jar does nothing except smell nice for twenty minutes… hopefully.
The rose sugar scrub is lovely and the whipped tallow lotion feels rich without being greasy. Fine, I’m a convert on “nice to use.”
The magnesium lotion is different. I’m pregnant, and about once a week a leg cramp or restless legs wakes me up. Usually that means an hour of lying there miserable. With this, the relief is nearly instant and I’m back asleep.
Sample size of one, no control group, I know. I don’t care. It lives on my nightstand now.”

“I have spent a lifetime struggling to find skincare products that don’t irritate my very sensitive skin. They either clog my pores, dry my skin out to the point where I feel like a turtle, or they cause reactions that leave my skin irritated and sensitive.
